Day 15 - Lisbon to Lore City

This trip has had more extended cold weather than any we've taken to-date. We burned through a 30# tank of propane in 13 days. A tank lasted 6 or 7 weeks on previous trips.

The weather forecast was correct. It was cold and it rained through the night. The rain stopped about 9:30am. We were able to get connected and on the road pretty quickly. The sky cleared before noon, the temperature climbed into the mid-80s, and the day was beautiful for exploring.

Our 167 mile route took us to Barkcamp, Wolf  Run and Salt Fork State Campgrounds.

On the way ...
We chose a scenic route to get from Barkcamp to Wolf Run and questioned the decision a number of times. OH-147 was scenic. It was also hilly, curvy, narrow, rough and heavily traveled by pipeline construction trucks.

Observations ...
We've noted that many of the campground offices are closed. The closures may be due to the time of the year or day of the week we visited. Without exception, the campground staff we did meet were professional, helpful and enthusiastic. They play a big part in shaping the personality of the campground.

End of the day ...
We're camped in Loop F at Salt Fork.

We continue westward tomorrow and will probably visit five more campgrounds before returning home on Friday.
