Day 11 - Oregon to Wellington

It rained lightly through the night.  The sun came out in the early morning and stayed with us most of the day. Strong westerly winds tossed us around a bit whenever we traveled on north/south roads.

Our 117 mile route followed OH-2 along Lake Erie, then turned south on OH-58 at Lorain. We visited East Harbor State Campground and passed through Oberlin and Wellington on our way to Findley State Campground.  We're camped in site #235 at Findley.

Fun things ...
Carol had fresh Lake Erie perch for lunch ... but hasn't gotten any good views of the lake.

We went to the Wellington Dairy Queen for an end of day (often called dinner) ice cream treat. We got to watch the running of the Kentucky Derby while we were there. That made for two cool treats in one stop.

Many state campgrounds are located in remote areas. You get there via two-lane, country roads. The drive while pulling a trailer is very pleasant ... until you miss a turn.  The road is invariably narrow and there are no turnaround spots.  We've had it happen twice in the past few days.  Our solution has been to make a 360° turn at the first traffic-free intersection we reach. We've gotten away with it, but doubt it would work if our rig was any longer.
